College Board Backs Away from ‘Adversity Score’ on SAT

After a backlash, the College Board has scrapped the idea of an “adversity score” on the SAT. The score sought to even the playing field for disadvantaged students by providing context for a student’s performance on the test and helping schools identify those who do more with less.  The College Board has announced several changes to the tool, introduced two years ago as the Environmental Context Dashboard. You can read about the tool and changes to it here.
